Long Pass

This anti-abortion Super Bowl ad muted its message by directing viewers to a website sponsored by the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family, where the group could use the longer format available with online video to promote their trademarked "Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life" narrative that promotes the ministry of former Heisman trophy winner and supposed former baby once at risk of abortion Tim Tebow. (There are a number of other sections of interactive content on the site, including their pages for online Focus on the Family valentines.)

Unlike other "gotcha" ads like this one that have been rejected by the Superbowl, Focus on the Family's use of Internet content to outsource the polemics made its way past network censors wary of offending viewers in a lucrative TV time slot.

Of course, I most like this parody of the Doritos user-generated content contest spots when it comes to depicting the Tebow family's media presence.
